DEREK
Derek Siskin has loved writing, storytelling, humor, and hip-hop music ever since he was a little kid. The Bedtime Chronicles is his first children’s book series, allowing him the perfect reason to mix all of that good stuff together. When he’s not talking about himself in the third person, Derek lives on Long Island, NY with his wife and kids.
JAMIE
Jamie Sale, since age 4, developed an obsession with drawing characters. An obsession that would later lead him to his path of becoming a cartoon illustrator by trade and being rewarded with amazing projects to work on such as The Bedtime Chronicles. Having young children himself, Jamie’s first-hand experience at being a Dadman was vital in capturing the essence of Derek’s characters through illustrations.

Derek’s father, Jay Siskin, was one of the biggest role models in his life. While in the midst of writing Legend of the Dadman in the summer of 2020, Derek learned that Jay had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. He decided it was only fitting that he would dedicate his book to the man who inspired it and embodied all of the special qualities of a true Dadman. Jay tragically lost his battle with cancer in November of 2020, but the tremendous impact he made on Derek and the lives of so many others still remains to this day. On the back cover of every Legend of the Dadman book is a star with the letter “J” inside it to pay tribute to the memory of Jay Siskin, the ultimate Dadman.
